Coach it up.

Have you ever coached a brand new Linebacker?

It’s a wild experience.

Especially when you realize that every single detail must be taught.

Where to stand. How to stand. Where to look. How to move.

Everything.

And while those situations can be particularly eye-opening…

I do believe this:

It’s no different when you’re working with a veteran player.

Sure…

The veteran player will pick things up faster…

But you can’t assume anything.

You still need to drill every detail.

Then drill it again.

And again.

It helps to have a system.

A progression of skills that starts with the fundamentals, and then evolves as the player develops.

I’ve spent years putting together my system for Linebacker development.
